Customer ID

The customer ID is a unique 10-digit number assigned to each Google Ads account. It is used to identify your Google Ads account and connect it with other Google services and third-party tools.

  1. Log in to your Google Ads account .
  2. There is a question mark icon in the top right corner. Click on it.

Giving someone / agency access to your Google Ads account

  1. You as a customer provide the Customer ID to the person who is to manage the account
  2. Then the managing person logs in to his MCC account, he enters “Accounts”, then in “Management” and clicks “+ Connect existing account”. The next step is to enter the sent customer ID number and click “Send invitation”.
  3. You will receive a request to approve account access to your e-mail address. To accept access, go to your Google Ads account in the upper right corner, select “Tools and settings” from the menu.
  4. Select “Configuration” from the drop-down list and click “Access and Security”
  5. Then select the “Managers” tab and click “Accept”

Linking the Google Ads manager with Google Analytics

  1. Log in to your Google Ads manager account  .
  2. In the upper right corner, select “Tools and Settings” from the menu.
  3. Select “Configuration” from the drop-down list and click “Connected Accounts”.
  4. In the “Google Analytics (UA)” or “Google Analytics (GA4) and Firebase” sections, click “Details”. You will see a list of Google Analytics services that you have access to.
  5. Click “Link” next to the property you want to link to your Google Ads manager account.
  6. (Universal Analytics properties only) You will see a list of the data views available for that property that you can link to. There are 2 settings: If your Google Ads account is managed by a Google Ads manager account that is linked to this property, you’ll also see a column with data views associated with that manager account.
    • “Import Site Data”: Select the data view from which you want to import site engagement metrics. While it’s optional, it is recommended that you select 1 data view, which will show your site engagement metrics in Google Analytics reporting columns for all managed accounts.
    • “Combine”: Combine as many data views as you want. This way, Google Ads click and cost data will be available in Analytics, and Analytics goals and transactions will be available in Google Ads. You can always choose a different data view for each managed account.
  7. Click on “Save”.

Repeat these steps for any additional services you want to connect.

Giving access to your Google Analytics account to another person / agency

  1. Log in to your Google Analytics account . 
  2. At the bottom left of the list, click “Administration”
  3. Depending on what level you want to add a user, select the Account ,  Service  or  View column  and click  ” User Management”.
  4. In the Account  Permissions list,  click ” + ” and then  Add Users . 
  5. Enter the email address of the user’s Google account.
  6. Select “Notify new users by email” to send the message.
  7. Select the appropriate permissions. Click “Add”.
